We are honored to welcome Ty Montgomery as our keynote speaker at this year’s Atlanta Family Dinner. Ty is a retired nine-year NFL veteran, best known for his versatility on the field with the Green Bay Packers. Today, he serves as an Associate on the Network and Investments team at Next Legacy, where he helps lead relationship development and supports athlete engagement, investments, and strategic initiatives. Beyond his professional career, Ty’s heart for mentorship runs deep. He grew up alongside more than 17 foster siblings, shaping his passion for ensuring that youth aging out of foster care never have to navigate adulthood alone. That personal experience is what led him to join the Connections Homes Board of Directors, where he continues his mission to support young adults through redemptive relationship, service, and mentorship. A graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in Political Science, Ty’s pursuit of excellence is grounded by his faith and fueled by a desire to help others grow. He is as comfortable talking about Jesus as he is talking about football, finance, or family—and he brings all of that passion to the stage. At the Atlanta Family Dinner, Ty will share his journey from the NFL to investing and mentoring, and most importantly, why belonging and connection matter for youth who don’t have a family to call their own.
The Don’t Go Alone program matches young adults aging out of foster care with lifelong Mentoring Families. Our Atlanta Family Dinner was inspired by one of our courageous young adults who told us, “Thanksgiving is the worst holiday, because I have no family to go home to.”
We will have cocktails, a delicious seated dinner, a silent auction, and moving stories that highlight the journey of young adults who have aged out of foster care or are facing life without the support of family. At 9:00 PM, the dance floor opens for music, laughter, and dancing. Support us in our shared vision of matching 10,000 young adults with families by 2030.
